In December 1990, Hanspeter Gafner founded STEBATEC together with two business partners, thus laying the foundation stone of a long success story. With some articles under the title «30 YEARS STEBATEC», we will share our history with you here in the coming weeks.
The Aqua & Gas magazine of March 2021 focuses on the merger of SCHEIDEGGER and STEBATEC. The report focuses on SCHEIDEGGER’s many years of activity for municipal water supplies, using the examples of Saanen/Gstaad and WAGROM in the Seeland.
We are very pleased to announce that SCHEIDEGGER Fernsteuerungen AG has found a successor in STEBATEC. STEBATEC has taken over 100% of the shares from the Scheidegger family, so that together we can consolidate the position of the leading automation company for drinking water suppliers in the Bern/Solothurn region, founded in 1970.
On the occasion of the company’s 30th anniversary, Stebatec could realize another very renowned project. Wasserverbund Seeland AG is a partner plant of Energie Service Biel/Bienne, Energie Seeland AG and Seeland Water Supply SWG and provides a large part of the drinking water supply for around 30 communities in the Bernese Seeland with over 100,000 inhabitants.
The Zermatt WWTP, which was built underground in rock caverns, was completely refurbished, almost doubling its biological treatment capacity. From the mandate of electrical planning and execution, a close cooperation was developed, which today covers the entire measurement and control technology.
The Zweckverband der Abwasserregion Olten (ZAO) is an association of 13 municipalities which treat their wastewater in the WWTP Winznau. The WWTP itself was and is already the subject of refurbisching measures, but other structures in the sewer network also showed a considerable need for refurbischment, including pumping stations and storm water tanks.
Two new measuring points collect the wastewater volumes and loads of an industrial discharger into the Rorguet sewage treatment plant in Meilen. The entire control system is mounted on a movable structure that can be raised from the concrete cabin embedded in the ground for easy operation.
