Real time instead of “business as usual” – the Ebnat-Kappel wastewater treatment plant breaks new ground
Since the beginning of 2025, the Ebnat-Kappel wastewater treatment plant has been using a fully dynamic SBR process controlled by our intelligent automation solution from STEBATEC.
What used to be rigid and energy-intensive now works according to demand and conserves resources – a real technological leap forward.
• Real-time measurement (ammonium, nitrate, and oxygen)
• Automatic cycle control in the event of load fluctuations
• Reduced energy consumption with consistently high cleaning quality
The project is a real-world laboratory for the planned complete renovation of the wastewater treatment plant – and an example of how existing infrastructure can be made future-proof through smart control.
