Avant l\u2019installation du syst\u00e8me de r\u00e9gulation du d\u00e9bit STEBATEC, les eaux us\u00e9es \u00e9taient frein\u00e9es avant leur arriv\u00e9e dans les installations d\u2019\u00e9puration par un \u00e9trangleur m\u00e9canique \u00e0 bascule.
