Promoting young talent is particularly important to us \u2013 it is a central part of our corporate culture. Projects like this impressively demonstrate how our technology serves us all \u2013 sensibly, effectively, and sustainably.<\/p>\n<p>Flood detection in Lyss is carried out by taking measurements in the town. As soon as critical values are reached, the external control system sends a signal, causing the sluice gate to close. The water accumulates in the settling pond and is discharged in a controlled manner via the flood relief tunnel. Behind Lyss, it then flows back into the Lyssbach. This system prevents potential damage amounting to over CHF 40 million \u2013 and significantly reduces the burden on the fire department in an emergency.<\/p>\n<p>The project was successfully commissioned on site in collaboration with ROMAG aquacare AG.<\/p>\n<p>Scope of work for the \u201cLyssbach gate valve\u201d project<\/p>\n<p>Olivier was able to plan, program, and commission the entire project independently:<\/p>\n<p>Project management<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create R&amp;I diagram<\/li>\n<li>Define object list with elements<\/li>\n<li>Write control description<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Programming<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create object list with process parameters and configurations<\/li>\n<li>Create device configuration<\/li>\n<li>Develop step chains<\/li>\n<li>Write PLC program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Commissioning<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Test program and HMI<\/li>\n<li>Check control cabinet<\/li>\n<li>Successfully commission system on site<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We would like to congratulate our automation apprentice Olivier on his outstanding final exam results \u2013 he achieved the best results among all EFZ automation technicians in the entire Bern-Mittelland section.
